Standley Middle School Joint Use Field and Aquatic Center

San Diego, California

Description: This joint-use project expands recreational resources for both Standley Middle School and the surrounding community. Key features include a new aquatics center, outdoor performance pavilion, and extensive site improvements.

The aquatics center features a 25-meter by 25-yard competition pool with a scoreboard and timing system, supporting University City High School athletics and community swim programs. A support building houses locker rooms, restrooms, concessions, equipment storage, and outdoor showers. Covered bleachers and perimeter fencing enhance safety and spectator comfort.

Next to the pool, a raised, covered stage pavilion is equipped with AV and data systems, making it ideal for school assemblies, performances, and public events.

Additional upgrades include renovated baseball and softball fields, a shaded public pavilion, and a 2,000-foot ADA-accessible jogging trail connecting it with Spreckels Elementary. Parking and accessibility improvements round out this vibrant, multi-use campus hub.
